My TV Provider = MTVP or TV Provider = TVP

My TV Provider = MTVP
TV Provider = TVP.
About two years ago I rang MTVP to tell them I was skint and wanted to be Freeview with them I have services with them, landline that we don’t use as we all have mobiles, it’s just for receiving nuisance calls that we occasionally get ringing us, broadband and TV. I told them I was happy with the service I got from them but needed to cut back drastically. I was informed the lowest I could go with the TV price was twenty five pounds! I was gobsmacked, I told her, “I thought Freeview meant free and going back to just basic TV without all the added extras!” She said, “No, this is the cheapest we can go, ” So I had to make do with a still very expensive TV payment of twenty five pounds.
Then gradually over the months I would get phone calls from MTVP Advisers offering me, “Special offers ..... and it will only cost you this small amount for this big deal, for our Customers who have been with us for so long.” At first I’d say, “No, I can’t afford it,” but its a business and the phone calls would still come. Another example from them would be, “Here is a very special offer for six months only and only five pounds to you, where new Customers are paying a lot more for the same thing.....”
And low and behold within twenty four hours the new added programmes would be on our TV. I would notice very slowly my bill would be going up and last week I went to the bank to get a statement I asked the assistant for a three monthly one. I had noticed my bill was fifty eight pounds!!! In my mind that is almost one hundred pounds, I decided to wait till the next day, my day off to ring MTVP, to ask what has happened, as clearly there was a mistake.
Last week at work we got talking about the same TVP that I have, I told them, “Mine is now a whopping fifty eight pounds!” To my horror others said, theirs was, “Double that!!!!” I was shocked. Then on my day off I looked at my bank statement in more detail and noticed last months TVP bill was eighty one pounds, I was beyond angry! I rang and spoke to a polite and nice lady I asked her, “Why is my bill SO high?” She said, “You have the Full House TV,” I said, “Whoever has tricked me, did not say, ‘your bill will be eighty one pounds when you have the Full House TV,’ for I would have said, “No thank you I can’t afford it.” I told her, “I want to have the cheapest TV package today,” And I asked her, “What is the price?” She asked, “Please hold the line while I check for you,” and then she returned a short time later and said, “The lowest basic, TV channel price I can offer you is forty eight pounds.” I told her, “That is still far too dear, that was fifty pounds in my eyes!” I asked, “Is there nothing cheaper?” She said, “No and this forty eight pounds would start in thirty days.”
I asked her, “When does my contract end?” She said, “July 2018,” I told her, “I will leave MTVP then and I asked her, “What is your name?” She said, “My name is Anya,” I wrote it down as with everything else, I write down whenever I make phone calls, names, dates, conversations, are all written down. I told her, “I will give you a good feedback as you have been polite and nice to me, but that between now and July 2018, I would tell everyone what I think of MTVP, that I would discourage anyone who was thinking of going to them, I would let them know just how expensive they really are and would tell them how the sales assistant was sly and wasn’t honest in giving me the full information by telling me my total bill would be fifty eight pounds, (too high) and then going up to eighty one pounds, (extortionate)!”
When Paul got up I told him about the phone conversation with MTVP and he said, “I need to find their web site where feedback is left and cannot be removed by MTVP and that negative feedback would be important to them.” He said, “Making a complaint won’t be a big deal to them, that they would just ignore it,” I disagreed, for if they ignored my complaint I would go above MTVP! I am angry but I am controlling my anger and one of the ways I am coping is my channelling it into this note here today.
I remember saying to my mobile phone provider when they were over the top expensive that, “After my contract was up, I would be leaving and in the mean time I would tell everyone how awful I thought they were that they were far too expensive!!” I told them, “With my mouth I say good things or bad things,” But that’s another story ......
The following week, I had a phone call from MTVP, I had thought they were going to offer a real Freeview deal but no, it was a lady called Hau, she said, “I would like to offer you another package at a special price of just one pound,” I told her, “I don’t want it, as I am already paying too much!” Undeterred, she said, “It is a very good special offer,” I said to her, “I’m not interested, unless you can give me Freeview TV today,” She replied, “I can’t do that,” I then gave it some thought and said, “When will this one pound deal end?” She said, “August 2018,” I said, I have leaving my MTVP in July 2018 when my Contract end,” I added, “That’s very crafty of the Company to try and do that, to try and bind me into an extended Contract, when I’ve recently told them that I am leaving the TV section.” I was back again focused and said to her, “Don’t phone me back to ask me this again, as my views won’t change, it will still be no.”
The following week, had a phone call for MTVP, I recognized her voice it was Hua again! I said to her, “I asked you last Wednesday, not to phone me again about the one pound deal, and here you are again, calling me about it, please don’t ring me next week, unless it is to offer me Freeview.” Unfazed she asked me, “Which mobile Company are you with?” I told her who I was with and added, “I’ve been with them for years and don’t intend to change, as they have now given me a very good deal to keep me, unlike yourselves with the TV package.”
Tomorrow is Wednesday, I wonder if Hua will phone me again, I think yes.
