Bones at the Base of the Mountain (song)

Bones at the base of the mountain…
…Standing tall and majestically….
Mmmmmmmm, polished ivory
There’s a life that never fades
Bones from a ….distant and forgotten…. age….
Still they give off heat after all these years!
Clouds pass across her face (the mountain)
Passing from …east …..to….. west
Marking off the passage of time!
Pointing the way back to home!
There’s a fire that burns there still,
Where the sandy beach meets the hills.
AWAKENING!…. THE SERPENT RAISED!
AWAKENING THE DORMANT POWER OF THE MOUNTAIN!
‘Cause (aside)
There’s a life that never fades
Bones glint in the setting sun
Holding memories still after all these years.
Mmmmmmmm, polished ivory
Mmmmmmmmm

began to work out the underpinnings...
lyrics work best if they have the same number of beats (syllables) in the lines of the stanzas,
and are repeatable in length in each stanza...
I started to score yours.... you vary from about 5 to 10 syllables and it doesn't repeat in each stanza which makes the music more appealing to the listener, who gets the tune and wants to join in.
1..8
2..8
3 10?
4..5
5 8
6 10
7 10
the first number is the stanza line... working from the top, the second one is the syllable count.
Hope this helps, it used to be the way I found the easiest to score a good song
maisie Guess what? I'm still alive!
