There's a biting numbing wind
That creeps through your skin
Soaks down to the marrow of your bones
Freezes you to the depths of your soul
Sharp and cutting

There's the threat of snow in the air
Peppered with frost
The earth is cracking and splintered
Aching for some warmth
Yearning for the summer and to be vibrant again
