Eternal Happiness
P K Routray
When two friends meet
reflecting on the memories sweet
of friends and friendship at the heart
that nothing ever can dare to dirt
the lord incarnates in the bondage of friends
to their bliss and joy divinity He lends
raising the happiness to the highest rung
that is eternal as per the scriptures; song.
that happened to Rangalal and Rajkishore
when their days, grand kids have taken over
forgot they their fallen teeth and grey hair
talked as usual with teenagers’ fun and flair
talking of their teenagers days
inducing their spouses to daze
to dream with bliss in between
being fairies to their hubbies in their teen.
But Madams! you are in fool’s paradise
our friends under the guise of no vice
still were changing their fairies often
with naughty friends’ adolescent fun.
But we assured you of their reputation,
many of their secrets to you are better known.
Rangalal was early to be hooked.
At his achievement with queries we looked
waiting to see his letters from his love.
Our querries he never tried to solve.
Spiting at him in dreams we were floated
now with real experience, we feel cheated.
Talked must have they on our treasure
priceless they are in our life, none can measure.
Imagining ourselves as party to their conversation
spirited we feel with thus divine inspiration.
They must have talked Rangalal’s butter
carried to dining hall packed with love by his mother
and Rajkishore’s silence and philosophical posture
still are not lost and it, the humdrum of life did not blur.
Thirty three from among us have bade us goodbye
some among us are not traceable with us to laugh and cry.
Some of us have forgotten the bondage of our golden days
pray them I to join friends with oldage swing and sways.
Golden jubilee is coming closer to remind us our union
when from the parental care with friends we trod on our own
it is already dusk, light is fading for us
Join hands forgetting the difference to make our rest of life joyous.
N < B – Raj Kishore and Rangalal with two hundred fifty of us read together staying under one roof for five years from 1965 to 70. They met after almost fifty years.
Happiness are three typs Tamasic, Rajsic and sattavic. The last is eternal).
