When you’re at the brink of adulthood
You have to take the famous exams that would
Project your academic prowess
And deliberate your future success
And after weeks of waiting and waiting
The results you just end up hating
But you didn’t get the points expected
By the college you have just been rejected
Now you’re doing it all again
In a week it will begin
Fairytales brought up to date
Like the tortoise and hair you have to wait
Greatness needs to be worked for hard
Even when the teachers bombard
You with information that makes you tired
You need to knuckle down and be inspired
Notebook of the travelled thoughts
The papers that last year you fought
Within yourself the depths of darkness
There is just so much talent and smartness
Overcome with humiliation
From the past exams you failed in
Now you’re trying to repeat
You are down but you’re not beat.
I believe that you can do it
Like the tortoise you can move through it
Last year you were like the hare
But now you’re more ready, more aware
Of how you’re repeating in another location
That you are not a natural sensation
Who doesn’t think he has to study
But fair play for trying it again buddy!

A nice thought for the IP!
A nice thought for the IP! It's so important for young people to understand - there's almost always a second chance. Or maybe sometimes people just need to rethink the path they thought they should be on.
A couple of proof reading points - in the first verse there's a 'you're' that should be a 'your' and the first hare is a hair.
