My Dear Babu
Not your uterine sibling,
a relationship providence did fling
but rooted me, you in your heart
with time and age never caught rubbish and dart
the sweet call Gandhianana still reaerate in me
and many dreams you at the center often I see.
Shared we lunch dinner and a mosquito net
we all used to count the days, you to get.
Once in your uncle's house, you caused the quake
with fun and laughter flee monotony and ache
Our house, your mother’s house is in between rivers
as a kid then as a child and a boy Donot you remember?
Once in a year to get you at our house we wait
your aunties like Yasidha count the date.
Repent I now not acceding to your appeal then
share from my bulkier share of fish and chicken
despite your begging appeal as a four years child
six years elder to you my greed was wild.
your joy remained more than my joy on my success
as if my win was your win and my stress was your stress.
As a kid you won every body’s heart at our home
hearts break when you used to depart with your mom
as a kid of two the craft of snatching a cake
many such creafts elders used to talk with ache
To my Piusa, to your dad you were apple of his eye
always suited booted, at those dreamy sights I sigh.
As a nursery boy before reaching the school
you used to finish your tiffin and at make your friends fool
Many incidents you at the center fleet in my memory lane
tears roll, pray Lord for days to come again
I swear I shall fulfill all your demands of childhood
that not ten but seventy in me always reflect and brood.
All ordained duties of sisters and brothers
you alone carried without any supporting shoulders.
Your care and service to our Apa and your mother
propel in me a thought for the world as a metaphor
As in all His incarnations what lord failed to do
to serve a mother He incarnated in you.
Mushi Apa from above tell all mothers to bless your son
He is none other but to serve a mother the lord’s incarnation.
Your selfless service to all your kith and kin and to us
and to the society around you are unpatrolled and glorious.
All on sudden you left us to be His loving angel
“Hey Lord on our Babu’s birthday, Him you please cuddle.”

In the service of Lord
(Babu is my Piusi’s /aunt’s son and my cousin has left prematurely for his heavenly abode in 2017. Today it is his birthday. Six years elder to him I remember quite vividly his fickleness. His service to his mother is unparalleled and unique.)
