Running through the mist
Swimming in the river
Laughing at the cold
Making us shiver
Cycling downhill
Wind in our face
No sign of fear
Not a trace
Climbing the trees
Just to look down
Lying in grass
Listening to sounds
Watching planes in the sky
As vapour trails disappear
Wonder if anyone
Wishes they were here
Sitting by the railway
Waiting for a train
Wave to the driver
In the rain
Summer holidays
Was a firework display
Of imagination you couldn’t buy
Time was a place
That taught us how to fly
