Kryptonite

Your love brought me tears,
Your love brought me pain,
The feelings have gone
But the memories remain.
You thought you could,
Cage and contain me
But I wasn't the only one,
So I left can you blame me.
You are like a lion,
Who cannot be tamed
Or should I say the hulk,
Because that's what you proclaimed.
I was like a tape measure
To your storm
I bend, not break
and go back to my true form.
The physical pain was transient,
Only some marks were permenant.
Like the scar on my heel,
Where you burnt me
Oops sorry, should I keep that lowkey?.
But the worst of it all,
Was the mental torture.
Did you not once think
Of my son or daughter.
I should have known all along,
Because you stuck to the lyrics
Of your favourite song.
"You let me violate you,
You let me desecrate you,
You let me penetrate you,
You let me complicate you"
You pray on the vulnerable,
Which makes you insufferable.
But with the help of others,
I am now strong!
So goodbye KRYPTONITE,
so long.
Before I lose my mind and sight,
Before I lose my strength and might,
Before I lose who I am tonight,
I must remember you are kryptonite.
