A Working Life

We work so hard all of our  life 
to pay the bills and to provide . 
Somehow through the thick and thin ,

we always find a way to survive .

For years and weeks

and endless  days

we work without no holiday

and just before our retirement comes

some of us just pass away.

What a blessing to find peace

and rest at last in eternity .

What we leave behind 

is a memory

of who we used to be .

Sad truth for so many- An epitaph I wish could be changed with better tomorrows ahead...let's hope.

Hi Penny , Thanks  for your comment . I don't know how that in got in

but I took the in out and now it's much better .

I must have put  the in , in without even knowing .

So grateful for you letting me know about the misplaced in .

The poem was inspired by my Father  who worked hard all his life in rotating shifts 

and died from a heart attack in his fifties long before retirement .

You're right there are better days ahead for us all .
