Escape Into Art

Paint me an ocean scene
call it autumn by the sea,
figures standing windswept
on grassy cliff top feeling free,
requesting invitation to welcome
harshness of tempestuous gales,
where foamy breakers buffet
rugged rocks and flotsom
that has gone astray,
wildness courting attention
flowing all concerns away,
a welcome calling in fall's
mix of magic, canvas to
gaze at each and every day.
In background weave
me an open road
that leads down
to untamed sea,
sweeping fields
of woolly sheep
warmly fleeced
keeping cold at bay,
no care have I
for blazing sun
that shone through
spring and summer long,
blanket sky palatable
in shape shifting clouds;
I won't complain or have
any overcast doubts,
single wish is all I ask:
negotiating paint and brush,
let not a drench of water fall
just blustery breezes reminding
me of welcoming octobers call.

I can picture the windswept
I can picture the windswept hair enabling you to 'feel' the breeze or gale. Very freshening, 'blow the cobwebs away' and sparkle the eyes! Rhiannon

this makes me think you are
this makes me think you are down by the sea, painting a coming storm? Reminded me of being an art student having to cope with paper blowing away and going soggy if it rained :0) I guess that would be a good thing for Van Gogh, painting outdoors in oil paint, as that is waterproof!
You brought to mind how the water coming from the sky, part of the storm, is related to the water you are using for your paint in this WONDERFUL alliteration:
single wish is all I ask:
negotiating paint and brush,
let not a drench of water fall
your poem brought me happy memories, thankyou so much!
