Waiting For The Thaw

Sometimes I think I'll
never write again...but
then inspiration comes
when I least expect it.
Activating poetry
is like waking from
the thaw of winter,
fresh and inspiring.
That's a reason to be
cheerful.
Mind merges with
energetic scribble
so as not to miss
an expression,
wandering creation
sometimes difficult,
like waiting landscape
relentlessly endures,
silent audience
backdrop so rustic;
crushed dead twigs
and leaves get devoured,
winter's inevitable pathway
penetrating blissful land,
life concealed by resolute
stillness of sleep.
Be patient under frosty early
morning shadows that freeze
in state of rest, view phase
like mystery not yet solved,
take comfort and languor in calm
cocoon, for vibrant meadows will
gush once more with colour under
dazzling rays, warming thoughts.

Well-pictured quietness and
Well-pictured quietness and calmness of waiting winter, like rest for us before the busyness. A useful slant on the IP too. As well as your cheer at being able to capture the thoughts in words.
I quite appreciate the feeling of wanting to scribble down some thoughts or words before you forget them! Rhiannon

Found this so comforting and
Found this so comforting and reassuring as these lines resonated strongly with me:
like waiting landscape
relentlessly endures,
that you come to the uplifting conclusion
take comfort and languor in calm
cocoon, for vibrant meadows will
gush once more
Had not thought of being unnable to write as Wintertime, only feeling dead and worthless with no hope in sight. But to think of it only as a season, which must end, that is so much better!!! As Celtic says, you are amazing at finding new ways of seeing things, finding positives. Your work is always inspiring.
It is better for my partner and son when I can't write, though, as I don't keep burning their food because I forget about it while trying to get thoughts down :0)

Hi skinner_jennifer
Hi I Love this, esppecially the first 4 lines. In Jan 2020 I bought wonderful Linen in inrediness for the huge craft events I planed to attend. I was going to tie dye them all that I'd bought from my favourite designer store, it would include king size bed linen duvets. But it wasn't to be. They stayed in their packs unopened and tags on the dresses and shirts. I had so many expectations and excitments of the year ahead. and for the first time in over 20 I have not tie dyed a single thing. I wondered has my Craft Gift of Tye & Dye gone? Forever? No it hasn't. Your first four lines they are fantastic full of HOPE. Thank You. x

Writing is an inexact science
Writing is an inexact science and does seem linked to many things. Think you captured it nicely with a seasonal theme

Hi Jenny,
Hi Jenny,
I guess winter has always been a kind of death and provides a good metaphor for sleeping creativity only to be wakened by the new warmth of spring.

Your words are an inspiration, Jenny. As others have said, you certainly always do find a way. I so enjoyed reading this.
