Wood fires are

   glaring

and currents of air

   straining

as the moon arises

across footprints

   of shade-

 

then a glow begins to

create a pathway

in surrounding

   woods.

I like how you have the moonlight creating the path, out of footprints of shadow, that's a brilliant way of putting it
