The Tidal Bore

begins a miracle from

the Atlantic

pulsing messages

along an ancient route                                                                             

water streaming

at a lazy clip-

outcroppings of

choppy waves

gushing speed as it

transits through

a canal of tall  

banks 12 ft and more

straddles its gouged

out path

centuries in the

making - from a wink

at Northumberland Strait

to Minas Basin

it journeyed

with a 100 ft mouth 

moaning forward-

finally subdued

into the smallness

of Salmon River Truro

its mandate complete

after a six hour

stretch and to repeat

the full measure.

of Nature’s calling.
