Hares in a Field

Morning in peony and firerise,
a wide-eyed flash and crouch
to tremble upon dewrooted earth,
daily devotions beneath cloud blossom -
I wonder what ours could be
when I watch these little gods,
warmed awake, alive.

A gorgous scene captured in
A gorgous scene captured in time with your words Rachel. Hares have such a strong connection to the earth, which is why I loved those lines:-
a wide-eyed flash and crouch
to tremble upon dewrooted earth,
Writing so wild and free, just like these strong creatures should be.
Very much enjoyed reading.
Jenny.

Of course! Had never thought
Of course! Had never thought of clouds being like paeony petals! You are so clever :0) And then cloud blossom, too. I really like the contrast of flowering sky and rooted earth, with hares between, washing in the dew
