The (x10x) 13 Favourite Sayings Of Mr Alfred Muggins (At This Moment In Time!)
(In no particular order:) (actually there are 13 sayings here! – the last two are the new additions!)
(Please see no significance in their being 13 of these! I am sure I will think of more in the future!)
Always trust a man (or a woman) if he (or she) likes marmalade!
Don’t eat too many biscuits – They will make you fat and forgetful if eaten to excess!
Never let politics (or history) get in the way of a good friendship!
A good King should always keep his feet firmly on the ground, so to speak!
If someone won’t listen to your historical (or political) theories or ideas they may not be worth knowing, and their sense of humour probably isn’t very good!
Always have a song title ready for any situation – it will make you feel better!
Think very carefully before transporting people from the future into the past – it may change history irreparably!
Don’t get too close to Henry VIII’s wives – he may get jealous or suspicious! (and you may even lose your head!)
Most of us are not suited to being stand up comedians! You may be better to try to write it all down. At least you will be able to remember your humour or ideas afterwards!
If you are feeling blue – play some blues music! By my experience you will feel a whole lot better!
Don’t get upset if your first novel doesn’t sell! (In fact – don’t get upset if none of your novels or writings ever sell!)
The (long awaited) New Additions 6/10/21 :-
12) If there is not a suitable word for what you wish to express (or you cannot find/think of the suitable word) – then make one up! (simples!)
13) If you wish to express an exclamation without swearing – why not use the name of a famous Russian composer? (examples :- Shostakovich, Rachmaninov, Stravinsky, Tchaikovsky, Rimsky-Korsakov, Borodin, Prokofiev.) (There may even be others?)
N.B. No nation has so many wonderful composers with such marvellous names, which you can really get your teeth or your tongues into! (I truly believe that the Russians won the War of the most classic Classical music a long time ago! (with very little help from Stalin of course!)
(revision 15/4/22 :- or Putin! Alfred has a theory that Putin does not listen to classical music. If he did he would surely be a much calmer individual and would have no desire to wage war upon peaceful people and a peaceful nation!)
More additions 15/4/22 :-
14) Never trust a man called Putin, as he has told countless lies and apparently (or obviously?) makes them up as he goes along!
15) Beware also of anyone with the name Putin in their name. This includes most famously the wandering monk Rasputin, who was considered so invaluable by the unfortunate last Tsarina Alexandra!
PS
an article on Facebook :-
Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky’s house, or a house once belonging to him, was destroyed by Russian army in north-east Ukraine during the recent invasion of Ukraine
(pictures of Tchaikovsky and flattened housing)
I shared it c.11/4/22
I wrote on post :-
Russia destroys the home of one of its greatest artists or cultural icons! He wrote the great 1812 Overture in honour or memory of that other invader Napoleon’s defeat! (Putin shoots Russia in the foot yet again!) He also wrote the superb Nutcracker Suite (The Nut which needs cracking is of course Vladimir Putin! Sadly!)
Apparently, although he did consider himself Russian from Votkinsk, his grandfather was very much Ukrainian, and he considered his Ukrainian heritage important!
