Django

Some days I listen to Django.
The rhythm guitar player
doesn’t quite swing
- it’s the swaying gait
of an old horse
pulling the vardo.
[Stéphane plays the counterpoint
provides the campfire-soundtrack,
string-driven sentiment for jazz-club
gypsies playing swing-time tunes for
a Europe soon to hear the blitzkrieg bop.]
The double bass
is driving the same horse,
but the drummer's brushes
are the scuff of horseshoes
over the stardust sprinkled
on every track by Django .
