The Giant Who Roared Back

I was just sitting there upon the rocks

that were scattered all around the sea shore ,

defiant like an elf on the shelf of a  giant ocean that started to roar .

The waves had swept away most of  this sandcastle

that had been built by someone else

who had attempted to escape life  for a little while

just as I did myself .

I watched a small boat crossing over to an Island

where  I’d never been before ,

the giant  roared at  the fisherman

who also tried to escape from the seashore .

I looked up and thought about the giant cosmos out there

with so much space to fill and just then

escaped to a  place where the giant roared back

and  time itself stood  still .
