Fossil fuelled ancient life lays to rest

Countless layers settle on the ocean floor

Patiently preparing for man to light the flame

Terra Firma also toils, but not for oil

Carbon forests mate and set a date

When Modern Man creeps underground

Fire, is the devil’s friend

Now man is changing ancient carbon to ashes

Oil and Coal in consumed in greedy flames

When the weary carbons are done and spent

Hell bent mortals still won’t give up the fight

To find just anything that still ignites
