Today it is my friend’s birthday. As I thought about her, I remembered her life before she was married. I remembered her as a beautiful teenager. Her whole life was ahead of her, she had met, the love of her life then. Years later, they got married, and had two beautiful children. After they got married, he was in a terrible accident and eventually he died. She and he were both very young. She didn’t remarry.
I thought of another friend, she is beautiful inside and out. She in my eyes met the perfect man for her. They married and had lovely Kids. He died young, of cancer in her arms. She did not remarry.
I thought of others I knew, as I sat quietly, on my own early in the morning, while others slept and others were at work.
I thought of another young wife, I suppose not so young now, as times flies, she has not been married long, I heard that, things have not been easy for them.
A woman confided in me, “I wish there was a get out clause, I would take it, if it could be done in a second, without any hassle or fuss.” I looked into her eyes, only see knew her own pain.
A lovely soul, her husband left her, leaving her with her two young children, to bring up alone. She did not remarry.
A lovely woman, a lot younger than I, her first husband cheated on her and so did her second husband. She didn’t remarry.
Another lovely friend, she found out after she got married, her husband has a mental illness. They are still married.
Ditto to the above, another friend she too found out after she got married, her husband had a mental illness and had to be hospitalized. A lovely couple, they are still married.
One of Judge Judy’s favourite saying is, “You picked him!” But I suppose, you don’t know a person until after many years.
I just watched Murder By The Sea, and the man told his wife, on their wedding day, “If you ever mess about, I Will kill you.” He killed his ex-wife, Margaret Whitcombe, on Christmas Eve in front of their young children.
RIP.
