Worldwide Harvest and Provision

[Continuing the hymn-for-Sundays series]
Much harvest collected
before autumn’s chill,
provision for hunger,
our stomachs to fill.
Abundance for sending
to give or to sell
but war seems unending
and hinders it all.
And sometimes corruption –
the greed of a few
prevents the provision
filtering through
to those really poor
when it reaches the lands:
some stealing or charging
exorbitant demands.
The farmers were busy
the weather was fair
and God gave the plenty
and bids us to share.
And also be nourished
his soul’s blessings taste
and not be impoverished –
grace offered don’t waste.

"Waiting for the harvest and the time of reaping, we shall come rejoicing bringing in the sheaves"
Just a Methodist Hymn we grew up with,
Keep well Rhiannon & Nolan
