When I was young, my god-mother often took me to Scargill House, in North Yorkshire. We went there about ten times, or more. For me, it was like a different world, a million miles from where I live. Everyone young and old, went on walks, high up or on the level, or underground. I didn’t like it much underground, the normal flat walk, was my favourite. In North Yorkshire, the weather can be hot in the summer or lots of rain!
I often went on holiday with my god-mother to Skipton and Conistone Pie. Near these places, my god-mother and I would often find a farmhouse and have evening meals there and then sleep over. The following morning, after breakfast, and then we would be on our way, to another destination. At these wonderful, family run farmhouses, often we would be the only guests. I was very quiet and shy and my god-mother would talk for both of us.
Other places I went with my god-mother, places that were familiar to me, in my childhood, were Pendle Hill, Clitheroe the Pennines.
My favourite place, is Lytham St Annes. I love the beech there.

The breaking news that came up on my mobile, this week caused me to do a double take! I saw that a girl age just ten, had died in a mudslide, in North Yorkshire.

It was in England, North Yorkshire. No one saw that coming. There will be an investigation. She would have been afraid. It would have been just awful for all those who witnessed it.
