Wind from the sea

Wind from the sea
joins the fray;
lace floats to meet it.
Simple enough
—here, the world he wears:
old, cold, alone—
to thresh loose threads,
reweave them:
lonely, colder, older.
A falter — the window
breaks, wasn't broken,
is open;
shore to sky, the same
glowing tempera
waits, breaks in,
is welcomed.

You really captured essence
You really captured essence of the painting with your poem. A deft tribute to the artist and yourself as a poet.

This gorgeous ekphrastic poem
This gorgeous ekphrastic poem is today's Facebook/X, Twitter and BlueSky Pick of the Day.
Congratulations.
I have added a pic to promote your work on social media. It's the Olson House associated with much of Wyeth's work. If you prefer to use a different image, please let me know.
The actual painting the poem is based on may still be under copyright so I am including a link below to a Wikipedia page that carries an image for anyone that wants to view it.
