Heroes

One day,

the heroes will gather.

They'll come with swords

coated in blood:

the blood of their enemies.

Their slain foes have families

that will gather

and clean the blood

that was left on the streets

so disgracefully.

The grievers will do one of two things:

the cause of death

will be placed upon a throne

fought over to avenge the death,

or it will be shunned

a painful reminder of a stolen life.

The gains that require another's loss

is not a gain worth having.

A temporary high

is not worth the karmic consequences

of blood on my hands.
