simply to watch the
glow dull.
hate,
instilled,
killed millions.
seventeen, all
in all, is what they
predicted.
gassed
or lashed,
taken sick
or overworked
to the point of death;
they watched and laughed
at the brash love and loss
of human parasites.
they say
that eventually
phoenixes will rise
from ashes. i hope the
same is true about
humans.

could cut 'that eventually' - and I was wondering about a semi-colon after point of death as narrative voice seems to change there, but i'm not sure your meaning (brash love and loss of..) after, so..! Anyhow, big topic, and yes, they do!and yes it is :)
