Missing one

Darkness arrives
As sun disappears
Street lights
Can be seen
In the distance
Moon
Only shine
Half as bright tonight
As the curtains
Get pulled shut
Little boy and girl
Finish brushing teeth
Tap off
Dad comes in
Picks them up
Carries them upstairs
As they just stare
Into his eyes
He looks back
Step by step
Little boy
Puts his arm out
Pushes door open
Daddy
Places them down
Boy climbs
Into his bed
Curls up
As his sister does
Laying there
Still staring
Dad leaves the room
As boy and girl
Whisper good night
Light off
Down the stairs
Grabs bottle
Pours into a glass
Gulps it down
Pours another
And another
Stops pouring
Sits with the bottle
As still as a rock
Just staring
Into nowhere
A whisper is heard
He turns
Puts down the bottle
The little boy
By the door
As if scared to enter
Dad asks
Why you not asleep
Little boy
Turns and runs
Back to his room
Dad follows him
Up the stairs
Into the bedroom
Where they
Both lay awake
Dad
Walks to window
Sees clear night sky
Turns around
Picks them both up
Carries them
Downstairs
Step by step
Boy and girl staring
Into there dads eyes
Reach the bottom
Of stairs
Dad opens front door
Walks few paces
Places boy and girl
On the floor
Where they stand
Dad kneeling
He tells them
I miss her too
Little boys asks
Where is she
Dad answers
Both of you
Look up
That star
Bright one
Next to the moon
Boy and girl
Both whisper yes
Dad says
Well that mummy
There she is
Where ever you are
Look up
She will always
Be there for you both
Little boy
Places his arms
Around his dad
Little girl
Places her arms
Around him too
They both whisper
Into there dads ears
Please don't
Leave us daddy
