Going shopping

Mummy was taking us to stupid Tesco but I didn’t want to go because it’s so boring and it always takes forever. Jack likes it because he gets to ride in the trolley with the food but I have to walk all the way round because I’m too big for the trolley. We got the number 57 bus that Mummy says goes all round the houses. There were lots of people on the bus and then they all got off at the shops and so did we and a man was there with a microphone and he was shouting at everyone and he said, “You are all going to Hull if you do not give up your whirly goods!” I asked Mummy what whirly goods are but she wasn’t listening. When we were outside Primark I saw Danny and I said, “Mummy, Mummy, look, those men are chasing Danny!” and Danny ran out of the shop but one of the men grabbed his jacket and Danny fell on the ground and then he got up and I thought he was going to hit the man but then I shouted, “Danny!” and he looked really surprised and then he looked like he did when Mummy found out school had sent him home for swearing at the headmistress. Mummy said, “Leave him alone, you bully!” and the man looked a bit scared because Mummy was doing her scary voice and he let go of Danny. The man said, “Do you know this lad?” and Mummy said, “Yes, I am his mother,” in a funny posh voice. “What is he s’posed to have done?” The other man said, “He stole a customer’s purse out of the changing rooms.” “No, I never!” Danny said and I said, “Oooh, Danny, you’re in so much trouble!” and he grabbed me and tried to put me in a headlock and pull my hood over my head but I stamped on his foot as hard as I could and Mummy screamed at us to stop it and I thought she was going to cry but she didn’t. Then the man said, “Turn out your pockets, son,” and Danny got out all the stuff in his pockets. There was chewing gum and his phone and cigarettes but there wasn’t a purse and then Danny was smiling at the man. Then a lady came out of the shop and said, “Have you got my purse?” and the man said, “He doesn’t seem to have it, madam,” and she looked really cross and made a face and Mummy did her posh voice again and said, “Is my son free to go now?” and then Danny picked up all his stuff and the man said, “We’ll be watching you, sonny,” and Danny laughed and then we all went home because Mummy said she was too tired for Tesco and we got chips from the chip shop and Mummy told Danny off for smoking and then we came home and she went to put Jack to bed. Then Danny said did I want five pounds and I said yeah and he said I could have five pounds if I kept a secret and he grabbed my hood and pulled out the lady’s purse.
