You won’t miss her
sitting quietly beside you
her flowery notes invading your senses
driving you dizzy with desire
her fingers deftly slipped between yours
until she is gone
and you find you are suddenly empty handed
You won’t hear her
tripping half a pace behind your manly stride
ambling aimless like a child by your side
with a hum and a laugh
that brightens your day
until she is gone
and you note that you’ve skipped a beat in your heart
You won’t feel her
turning softly in her sleep
her small feet tucked between yours
then the lark song breaks the dawn
you stir to find her entangled in your embrace
until she is gone
and you wake with a start that she was but a dream
