Beauty never woke this morning,
The sunlight never came
Instead came darkness, mist and sorrow
Grey skies: a crying shame.
The birds, they never sang this morning,
They hid themselves away
As the slimy tendrils of pain and grief
Begged the life not to stay.
The sound just didn't come this morning,
Stifled by the silence as it grew,
Overcome by this macabre world
To a place no man knew.
Beauty never woke this morning,
Well, it had no reason to
For my soul had lost a precious thing,
My soul, my heart, lost you.
