The Dentist

Why does no-one ever write about a trip to the dentist? In novels
the
dentist seems a non-person, even though medical stories are
popular.
Of course like everyone else I DON'T LIKE GOING. But when in the
chair
and the drilling seems to be going on for ever, I say prayers,
silently
or meditate.. Not formal prayers. But I look through the sky light
and
imagine myself elsewhere, a hundred miles away maybe, and ask God if
he
is sharing this. No matter what religion one has, anyone can do
this.
Or substitute God with Nature or4 whatever makes you happy if you are
a
non-believer.

My dentist is very gentle. If you don't like your dentist find
another.
But it is never as bad in practise as in thinking about it
beforehand.
