Eat bees

Or accurately

The park couldn’t have picked some people on their way to ‘not in a hurry’ more accurately.
They strolled by the trees as if their knees were olive oiled and did not hold hands like people afraid of leaving.
They talked in reams bowing the weight of the bridge with planning;
idea lists growing knots of magnolia and jasmine.

They do some jokes about the grass community,
hide from the spying sun for a half hour,
watch the frogspawn nugget raving
to the moss drip clock logic of the fountain
logging in runaways, lovers, letter writers.

Everything says its where it wants to be,
the theory trees,
the hosepipe pythons hissing ‘ready spring’,
the insects mapping how things might happen
or more accurately the petri city
picking people not in a hurry, who would rather
eat bees than leave.
