Alas
As I stood at the top of the tower
A light breeze rustling the crimson folds
Of my evening dress
I thought of you
And down I tumbled
Twisting
Turning in the air
Only to fall onto hard cobble stones
Rejected
Shunned
An outsider
You're not here
And I know
I can feel it deep inside me
And I know
That you're gone
So there's an emptiness in my heart
A hollow where you used to fit
That heart of mine doesn't beat any more
Like yours
Torn on the battle-field
Like yours
Strewn on the ground
Like you,
I died that day
