The Geordie Musketeers ?
We was such good muckers,
Geordie, Bob n' me
Meeting for the forst time
At the tender age i' three
Geordie he was ginger,
Bob's hair as black as coal
While mine was middlin' moosy
Nee definite hue at aall
Aged five wi started forst school
Wi others in same grade
Aall i' us new bairns
Were so innocent n' afraid
We wor scared i' that forst teacher
Who was aal grimaces n' scowls
Causin' Ginger ti pee 'ees pants,
And Bob ti move 'ees bowels
From infants on up ti high school,
Aall for one, n' each other musketeer
At sixteen wi forst got stoned
on three gills i' waatery beer
By that time we'd matriculated,
Ginger me n' Bob
Leaving full time education
Ti take up wor forst job
Set on at same ship-yard
Us united musketeers
One poond one and tupence i' week,
Apprenticed engineers
Friday-neets wi hit the toon
Ti get as pissed as newts
Wi' semi-crews. Brothel creepin' shoes
N' semi-draped drainpipe suits
We consumed lots i' liquor.
Aye doonin' umpteen glasses
Suppin' double Vodkas
N' lookin' for triples i' willin' lasses
At twenty one we wor conscript
To sorve Queen n' Country
Ginger army, Bob Brylcream-boy.
Me? a' went off to sea
Aall three iv us got married
Pursuin' wor various careers
Remainin' aal the while good mates
Us Geordie Musketeers
Yi bugger am getting owlder noo.
Aye there's ownly Bob, wheelchair n' me
Cos we just paid wor last respects
Ti wa grey heeded Ginger marrer
Doon at Whitley Cemetery.
