Half adult, half child

Her gentle golden locks fall on my sturdy shoulders,
Our mothers silk nighties rise up to our waists.
Innocent, unshaven legs entwined,
Silent night. Soft, sweet, surrender.
Best friends for so long.
So close yet rarely together.
Acting up.
"Your father, I'll be mother,"
Soft harmonic chords strike the cold, lifeless babe,
Too big for our small arms to hold.
Thrilling laughter stays in my heart forever.
Remembering.
My heart races.
Discovery.
Half adult, half child.
Such a grand imagination.
So many sleepovers,
So many nights together.
Top and tailed, skin rubs together.
Meet up in dreams.
The sweet taste of her kiss stays with me,
lipstick stains my cheeks.
