IMMORTALIZED ON PAGE 127.
There is an unidentified red insect
On page 127 of A Brief History of Time.
It is no bigger than a full stop
And is moving at remarkable pace towards
'Primordial black holes'.
I have to keep re-reading 'chaotic and irregular'
Because it is moving in circles,
Drawing my attention towards it.
I know deep down that nothing will stop me turning
To page 128 after 'other ideas about general'.
Perhaps it will be squashed
As it rests upon a hyphen.
Or its life will be taken
Approaching 'possible explanations'.
I will never forget it. Dead,
It will be bigger than a full stop.
Larger than it's life.
Now, I pause and lift my eyes from the last line.
I would like to be ironic and preserve
It across the word absence:
The last word from the penultimate line
Of the second paragraph.
