There are a hundred ways to laugh
The deep throated chuckle
Of the custard pie
In the face of the clown
The sharp sly cackle
Of the consternation
On the face of a foe
The high sweet note
Of the red balloon
In the hand of a child
The soft warm murmur
Of the possibilities
In the eyes of a lover
There are a thousand ways to cry
Not all need tears.
