Only once

Nothing lasts
Blown away like dust that once fell thick
Sitting around inside a grimy waiting room
That dominates my head.
Potted plants stare, dully, through the unwashed city glass
When mountains fall
No one is there to catch them.
Seeing cars pass by
Lives incased within fragile metal
Frames shattered when you take a firm grip.
Clinging to the railings of a balcony
Did you really want to fall?
And now that you're there, living the moment
What does it taste like?
That sticky sensation in your mouth when you want to go back
Deaths, carefully planned, go by every day
Pass us by and nothing sticks
Nothing stays but words
Endless words
And faces are scrubbed out with brillo brushes
Wire in my eyes and I can't move my hands
To stop myself from going blind.
