Platypus

All the left over bits,
from the Airfix kits,
the bill, the fur and fins,
odd pieces of creatures, left unused,
retrieved from nature's bins.

A compound creature,
Such a complex mix,
of land and sea and air,
oviparous mammal, from another world,
Mother nature was being unfair!

For she is all powerful,
She calls all the shots,
To Nature, I will defer,
But pity poor platypus, pottering around,
With the bill, the fins and fur.
