And then&;#8230;.
&;#8230; there was the Rollercoaster Period.
Your youthful fear finally conquered,
there were no rides too white-knuckle for you.
We did the tour, from Alton Towers to Six Flags,
Bush Gardens to The Islands Of Adventure.
And then came Clara and a different
big dipper of a ride altogether.
Certain cogs clicked into place, driving
you on and up to giddying heights
before the heart-stopping drop,
the weightless euphoria of first love.
She tumbled loose change from your pockets,
spun your head to nausea, barrel rolled
your emotions until the air brakes kicked in.
A juddering full stop.
You staggered away, disorientated but unscathed.
