*postcard of sybil thorndike wearing a shirt with those optical
illusion block thingies on, looking into the distance*
A vase that fills my vision with a sigh
Rainbow in black and white
To suffer insufferably
and break the stalemate silence
upon which I stutter.
These blocks that shade my arms
were green and blue once
Now fade to nothing.
Hair flecked with gold and summer
has frozen and changed season
Winter silver with frosty fingers sits upon my head
I wish that I could be young once more
and tear my eyes
from solemn courtly butterflies.
