Summerhouse

Although you have, most probably,
been repainted,
there is always the chance
of being original-
strip back the layers,
(I feel your age, buried,
underneath the white)
and when you are bare
I will wrap my arms around each column,
fingers over the pale wood,
and it will be as if you are born again,
and a luxury (first-born).
Then I will fill you with summer,
so you will be fully
alive, skeletal,
and sun-creamed.
This is what I meant to say:
I want you, your whole,
being the only
summerhouse that I know.
(This is the only way
I can reach out to you,
to your glass core.)
