Talking Bout You - September 15 2002

09.35 am. Dawn rises and I am still asleep. I am 40 in a few weeks
time, on October 4th. For now I am 39.

Yesterday (14) was good, I did get a bit fed up early in the morning,
and made a comment about getting a list of things, and after I fed the
cats, I went ahead and did just that.

I fed my Mum &; Dad's cat then I went in Christies, but they said
come back in half an hour, so I went in Leigh Record Exchange went thru
the CDs and bought a double CD by Chris Farlow (which I have yet to
listen to) then I got my haircut - it cost ?10 and is a slight restyle,
I have 6 scissor cut on top and a grade three at the sides and back.
Maybe it makes me look younger, maybe it doesnt, but it does make me
feel better.

I trundled into Leigh and went in Gum, where due to my 501s expanding
in size (or me shrinking) I decided to get another pair of reclaimed
501s which I wore out of the shop. I had a chat with J who works in
Gum, then I met my niece, and my sister in law and her husband, and we
had a coffee in Ugos. Turns out that my brother in law is seeing the
same band I am Sunday as Smother is playing support.

I went in Fives, ordered the entire back catalogue of Back From The
Grave Garage Punk, bought a few CDs, then I got the bus to Southend. On
the bus I rang Erin for a while. In Southend I went to Leatherland and
got a sixties style leather jacket (like a Levi one but leather) and
then in Honky Tonk I bought a red and white Telecaster and a flight
case, which meant I had done everything I said I would do in my entry
the day before.

I had a coffee in Mama Amalfis after a brief chat with a punk who plays
in a band called Scandal and he told me about this all afternoon gig
fest at the Focus in Southend, which I said I would probably go
to.

I got the bus home, and then played the new guitar which sounds great
with full treble and overdrive.

My wife went out shopping and then to her mum and dad's. I went online
and spent a long time in NME chat, and that was good as well. I chatted
on MSN to friends. My wife got in and we watched GI Jane.

I found an album by the Sonics in my collection which sounds really
good. I was still listening to it at midnight.
