Her journey came suddenly to an end
this gentle woman, my mother, my friend.
This Madonna, this simple small town girl
who never knew the modern social whirl.
Whose world revolved around her family
and taught us how to live with decency.
Life’s travel faltered, her goal never reached
and Heaven’s gate with stainless soul she breached
She in my mind remains forever young
journeying home before her task was done.

Thinking of you today, Val. This is a beautiful tribute to your mother.

To say to much would probably cheapen this. Only those of us who have been over this terrain, know the depths of the chasms and the height of the mountains. Lovely tribute!
