Upon the usefulness of time

I would be better
changing the bed linen.
Days roll by ,
disgorging themselves
shamelessly, uselessly,
as though tomorrows
always arrive, unbidden.
Such abundance!
Hours pile on top of one another,
playfully, seconds flinging themselves
kamikaze-like,
and- gone. I am a user.
I kill time, as bakers swat flies,
I murder minutes , without a moment's
remorse.
I hate usefulness,
knowing that
it is myself i despise.
I know the sheets
need changing.

Liked this. The musing on "time" is very intriguing.
Thought the lines about killing time were brilliant.
Didn't get the point of "as bakers swat flies", not sure why it's in. Other than that though, I really liked it.

i like this a lot -beginning and end ties well -and as far as the flies go -i imagined the baker waiting for the next cook, keeping the flies off the last batch -good poem- (need to change the sheets too!) cheers ani
