Villanelle about teachers breaking and entering

In the spirit of the recent villanelle revival, here's one about a
tipsy chat I had with a few teacher colleagues today (today's event
entry) . . . .

In whistle-whetting-Friday's hostelry -
Than breaking into school at close of bar.

"You, get some lager, bring it in the car."
"You know alarm codes; I have got the key."
No better these young educators are.

We've nothing more - since having come this far
Steam-driven by nostalgic reverie -
Than breaking into school at close of bar.

Then Monday morning in the Daily Star,
I forecast watching headlines leap at me:
"No better these young educators are!"

Of course, we stayed and had another jar.
The bottle lost, the harsh reality -
No better these young educators are
Than breaking into school at close of bar.
