My throat has been killing me for the past two days. My ears also
hurt. I suspect I am infected with a cold. I have been nowhere near the
Far East recently so I imagine it is just a common or garden British
cold bug. Great. Just what I needed.
The pregnant one meanwhile is covered in a rash. She thinks it is heat
rash from sitting in the garden sunning herself. We English roses have
very sensitive skin. Worryingly the rash has now jumped down onto her
legs. They have monitored the baby and it is fine. Hopefully it won't
come out covered in a rash. Poor thing.
The highlight of my culinary year is my home-made chocolate digestive
biscuits. OK, so it was quite a lot of hassle and very messy involving
a LOT of washing up to make about 30 biscuits, but they are really
tasty&;#8230; R likes them too. I am proud of my domestic
skills.
At the moment I am living off soup and rice pudding. Poorly person's
food. I may cook the nice prawn dish for R tonight though, as the
prawns will go off if I don't and it is a really nice dish.
The only good thing about being ill is I have sat still long enough to
really get into reading. In a few days I have read "How to be Good" by
Nick Hornby. I enjoyed it very much, although I think my all time
favourite of his is "About a Boy".
We have a busy weekend coming up. We are having a visitor for the first
time in ages in the form of S. She is stopping off for a night on her
way back from Somerset. M won't be coming with her this time. We are
going out for a meal on Saturday with K and M and S. On Sunday we are
going to see my parents and to hand over my mum's birthday
pressie.
Next weekend is Easter and the babe is due to arrive. I may end up
sharing my birthday with the babe. I will be 33. The babe will be
0.
