Dear Milly-Mops

You will not hear me howl
a raucous cry - as I imagine you
within your row -
tears welled in your tender blues -
babies at your side.
But I will beg the heavens to carry you
on gentle reams of cotton cloud,
still smiling as we waved bye-bye -
even though
I'll hurt like hell
from having you so recently
beneath my wing -
ripped away and gone again
so soon
For now, all gladness dissipates -
I fear I'll never hold you;
see your face -
nor you see mine,
and I would beg the sky to fly you
back, but then you'd only
have to leave, and leave again,
and I'd be sad - just like today...
whenever you'd decide to go away
would always be for me
too soon.

Hi Bee
Hi Bee
What a beauiful picture of you and your daughters. And what a lovely poem of love and need, and recognising that there are other needs that must also be dealt with.

Hello Bee,
Hello Bee,
It's so hard to say goodbye. I know how I feel when I've had a house full and then they all go home. I wander about the house hating the silence, but I console myself with thinking about the good time we've all had being together. I'm lucky that my family are in this country so I see them quite often. It must be much harder for you. Still, it is a beautiful poem that expresses so well a mother's love and the pain of separation.
Stay strong,
Moya
