I tasted white chocolate
and a breath of sea, reminiscent
of champagne bubbles
that made me giggle,
fine wine that made me cry for more,
knowing there could never be enough
to satisfy my thirst; the yearning in my heart
to savour a moment forever.
A brush of lips, small fingers
that pressed petals on my neck
and the healing palms imprinted
there before you left will never fade.
I've flown sky high because of you
and swung on strings of stars,
doting in a temporary heaven
before floating back to earth, proud
of your eventual independence.
But what would I give to turn back time
and do it all again... X

It's really enjoyable and accessible. Do you mean 'what would I give' ?
The idea of them growing up is scary.
Thanks for reading. I am grateful for your time.

Hi Bee
Hi Bee
Beautiful story poem. I like the way you give a little glimpse into your thoughts and feelings without being specific.

I think this expresses
the wishes of all loving parents. You have summarised this wish in a very eloquent way. It brought a lump to my old throat.
Good work. Bee.

Wow indeed, Bee, and well
Wow indeed, Bee, and well deserved too. A fine and delicate poem expressing bitter-sweet feelings of past togetherness and the inevitable separation plus the realisation that, alas, tempus fugit.

How could I have missed this poem Bee? Simply adorable...an intimate moment captured in this beautiful poem that had me almost welling up, being the sensitive natured person that I am.
I can only say congrats on those lovely gold cherries, they're well deserved.
Jenny.
