Panic Unnecessary

Funny, the thoughts that occur
on the spur of the moment, like -
having made such a fuss
about this mess -
what if I recover?
What if a natural remedy -
like - the carrots, consumes
the tumour, their vitamin A drains
rogue cells from nodes, or the IV vitamin C
circulates my blood, clearing malignancy
on its journey through my body.
Turmeric might turn me orange, but
ultimately leave me clean. Or chemicals
may instantly apply their poisonous wonder...
and then, what will I say?
Hi folks, false alarm!
Would they turn away disgusted;
suddenly demand back
money spent on flowers, cards -
tissues for tears? It's such a responsibility -
possibly dying. When, and how
would I do it, and how will I get over
the failure, if I don't? Embarrassing,
or what? Like - sorry folks,
show's over -
I'm fine.

I think that should probably be put fairly low on your worry list bee.

People's concern is as much,
People's concern is as much, or more, for all you are going through, as when it might be that you (like they) will die. But maybe such worries make some very reticent about what they are going through, which is usually a pity. Rhiannon

So refreshing, and endearing,
So refreshing, and endearing, that you can laugh at yourself and your readers (we can take it) at this time.

Oh Bee...
Oh Bee...
Don't fear those those things you cannot see or know.
No one would ever complain if you didn't go...
You take each day as a carefree lifetime and let us pray that it is so!

I love the dimension thoughts
I love the dimension thoughts like this give your collection, the complexity and shifting nature of the situation. There is a wry and poignant humour here, really like how you are giving us a breadth and depth of perspective.

Hi Bee
Hi Bee
You would be treated as a miracle - and respected as such - and everyone would be thrilled. My daughter told me a bit about how the vitamin C works. Because when you consume it, as it is water soluable, it breaks down in the stomach and is out of your system within an hour, so it cannot be very effective. The carrots get involved in the fat soluable system, so hang about longer. But the Vitamin C if it goes directly into the blood, stays there long enough, and it somehow splits into two aspects - one of them acting sort of like bleach - and although the good cells can ignore it, the cancer cells can't deal with it. So maybe the bleach in your system will get rid of the orangey colour too. You can tell how unscientific this all is, but it sounds like a worthwhile experiment to me. Good luck with it.

Espeically in the early days
Espeically in the early days I read about the magical properties of organic carrots, juiced and coffee enemas. It makes as much sense as reading the entrails of the animals we kill. But when we're stuck and the world makes no sense, we do. We do grasp what we can bear, and no word or idea can lead to the despair, the futility of not knowing, the what if, and no longer being there. Panic is a natural response. Stupidity grows on us all. Only the sensible worry about looking stupid. And who cares about them?
