Paper, glue and you

I packed my things inside themselves
And bolted all the doors
Stocked up on tea and newspaper
And lacquered all the floors
I found myself some glue
And an awesome new design
When I couldn’t get the lid off
I told myself I'd still be fine
I made a paper mache dog
I made myself a friend
but he wouldn't come when I would call
and his tail did not bend
So I made myself a model
Of a plane to pass the day
I had a great idea on how
That I might fly away
I figured out the measurements
And dipped my elbow in the grease
A brand new paper mache plane
Might bring me some release
I thought about wind in my hair
And the joy that it might bring
I made it strong, the papers thick
Withstands most anything
I flew around a-smiling
For a breezy week or two
Then found my plane was missing parts
A paper mache you
And now It’s so damn lonely
In this paper mache plane
I barely can control my gears
And, oh, here comes the rain
