and I gave up the fight.

Cameron left his daughter in the pub
while I sat at my desk and decided it best
never to smile back at children again.
This Fathers’ Day
I painted my new flat in town
it’s gorgeous and I can’t wait for my girls to ring the bell
so we can catch up.

Wonderfully set out and
Wonderfully set out and recorded with sadness and exhausting frustration. A tough journey with a satisfactory ending, which is actually a beginning. Sounds very real and true. In which case, congrats on your new home, and enjoy a catch up with your girls. If not true, it still sounds it, and still good.

Hello Richard,
Hello Richard,
What a clever way to describe your frustrations and your determination not to give up on your girls. .Wrapping it up in the context of each Father's Day is a great way to show how important your girls are to you.
I never knew my father so don't ever give up because their need is the same as yours.
